Anywho! You’ll have to be ok with sheer glosses to appreciate the wonders of these Sheen supreme Lipglass Tints, because MAC purposefully dialed down the pigment level of all eight shades.

In hard-core makeup circles, “sheer” can be a dirty word, but I think there’s absolutely a time and place for sheer gloss. I use ’em when I don’t want to/can’t invest a lot of time on my lips, like when I’m having a day where I just want to do my brows, tinted moisturizer, concealer and cream blush.

Basically, these are like sheerer, slightly less sticky Lipglasses in brush pen applicator disguise. as for wear time, they last from 2-4 hours on me, depending on what and whether I’m eating or drinking, and they have MAC’s classic vanilla flavor and scent.

I really don’t think one would need to hoard a lot more than one or two of ’em, though, because at a point, some of them start to look alike, especially if you have pigmented lips like mine.

I vote for wearing a color that matches the blush you like to wear on your “dressed down” makeup days. I normally choose peachy pinks or corals, so I’d opt for Heart & soul (a warm peach) or Kis-Kiss (a cool peach cream).

If you’re into pinks, there’s warm pink Bubble Gum or cool pink K-Wow…

If this was the only charm product I used on any given day, I’d be all right. use your fingers or a brush — or both, as I prefer. It’s a no-rules highlighter. …oomph up concealer. because the formula is nearly translucent, it can be used under the eyes. I mix it with a little dab of RMS “Un” cover-up and it brightens and conceals.

…double as eye shadow. blend ever so slightly on the lid, focusing on the center. I wear a primer if I do this and typically tote it along in my bag for touchups.

…illuminate your body. in some cases you just need to highlight your clavicle, you know? Also, I love blending just a bit onto shoulders when wearing a sleeveless dress. You notice the effect but don’t see the product.

…be used as lip gloss. always dab a bit at the bow of your lips and even wear as a base for lip gloss. The coconut oil is nourishing so you don’t have to worry about it drying out your lips.

I was conducting “research” at a Nordie’s MAC counter a few weeks ago, playing with lipsticks and chatting with the gals who work there (They’re all so good at the Corte Madera counter!), when I overheard a woman talking about her viewpoint on makeup.

Ohhhh-kay. So maybe I was eavesdropping.

The woman was searching for false lashes, and one of the makeup artists asked if she wanted a bold look or something much more natural. Her reaction was something along the lines of, “If I’m gonna wear fall lashes, I want people to notice!” She wanted to go bold all the way! Otherwise, why bother?

Recently released for fall, the four-pan palette of powdered eyeshadows has a shimmmery golden khaki, a satiny taupe, a blackened khaki with the faintest flecks of golden glitter (SO CUTE) and a sheer, pale gold, any of which can be applied wet or dry, and still look great. Whatever suits yo’ fancy!

All four shadows, which range from sheer to medium coverage, have a lovely, soft reflective shimmer that catches the light juuust enough, so that you’re compelled to take a closer look.

It’s ideal for that watercolor effect — subtle, but you can certainly tell you’re wearing makeup.

So, where might forest fit into your fall makeup plans? Well, when I want to emphasize an aspect of my look, like a bold cat eye or a dark lip, it would be a terrific quad for that. It highlights the eyes without making them compete with the rest of your look for attention.

I notice very little fallout from any of the colors (just a little)

None of them lean too warm nor cool. color temp-wise, they’re just right, and thereby ought to suit many skin tones.

These are colors I can easily see myself wearing all year long, and not just in fall.

They look particularly fetching and stylish with berry lips (which are pretty big best now).

Oh, and the way these shadows blend? ¡Fuera de la cadena! The powders melt and merge into each other. If you like super-blended eye looks, look no even more than Forest.

It’s a wonderful quad for beginners! — or anybody working on their blending skills. Seriously, with these colors, it’s hard to go wrong.

Forest might not suit you if you’re makeup style is full-tilt stomp the runway, but if you like to your shadows much more toned down, love a super-blended eye look, or if you’re searching for a straight-up pretty quad to wear with fall’s trendy bold berry lips, it’s something worth checking out.
